The AG-94 is an advanced Russian assault rifle featured in several SOCOM games. In games in which this rifle is featured, it is usually used by elite enemy forces. In real life, this weapon is the AN-94 "Abakan", a highly advanced rifle used by some elite Russian soldiers. It was meant to be a successor to the AK-74 assault rifle, but it is very expensive and Russia stayed with the AK-74. One of the main features of this rifle is the "Blowback Shifted Pulse" mechanism. This allows the rifle to fire the first two rounds of every trigger pull at 1800 rounds per minute. In addition, those two rounds share the recoil produced, so the shooter feels the combined recoil only after the second round was fired. This means that the second round will hit almost exactly where the first round hit, allowing better armor penetration. Subsequent rounds fired after this two-round burst fire at 600 rounds per minute (typical to the AK-47/AK-74 assault rifles). In-game, even though the rifle sounds as it it shoots the first rounds very fast, it really doesn't (look at the number of bullets count down when you fire this weapon). However, this weapon still has very little recoil. It can be fitted with most scopes except the high scopes, a rifle laser, and extended clips, which increase magazine capacity to 40 rounds. In some games, it can also be fitted with an underbarrel grenade launcher.

Advantages: Very little recoil, good range and accuracy, a highly modular weapon.

Disadvantages: Difficult to obtain, except in SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3, where it is already unlocked from the start. Also, the weapon in-game doesn't really fire the first two rounds as fast as it should, even though it sounds as if it does.
