SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo is the first SOCOM game in the PlayStation Portable. It has both Online play (Infrastructure Mode) and LAN (Ad-Hoc Mode). It is simliar to the SOCOM games released for the PlayStation 2. This game is a follow up to SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs on the PlayStation 2. It also features Crosstalk objectives, which if the player completes a Crosstalk objective from either SOCOM 3 or this game, it brings benefits to the missions (in both games) you will encounter. It is the prequel of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 as well as the first installment of the Fireteam Bravo series

Gameplay[]

The most notable difference in the game itself compared to its PS2 counterparts, is the aiming system, which due to the lack of right analog stick you now have to press and hold R to lock on a hostile, right before starting a mission you have a loadout system based in weapon categories such as: Assault Rifles, Sniper rifles, Machineguns for the primary slot that has and SMGs for secundary slot, and 3 other slots of tactical equipment.

Multiplayer[]

Multiplayer was shut down on August 31, 2012. It used to support 16 players, voice chat, game types such as Demolition, Extract, Supression, Captive and Free for all.

Currently, the only way to play Multiplayer is through the local wireless connection called the Ad-Hoc Mode

Single-Player[]

The single-layer campaign contains 14 missions. In the entire game you play as SANDMAN, accompanied by fellow SEAL, LONESTAR, who assists you through the game. Missions are set in four different places around the world. This includes Chile, Morocco, SE Asia and Poland. At the first set of deployment in the Chilean region, it involves rescuing the Chilean Vice President and taking out the anarchist terrorist group called CLL(Chilean Liberation League) who plans on bringing down the Chilean government. Then in Morocco, you fight against a rebel group known as the NAPF (North African Patriotic Front), who are plotting on invading the country. In Southeast Asia, notably in the Bay of Bengal, you fight against an armed group known as Fist And Fire, notoriously known for piracy activities in the area and are plotting on targeting government institutions and military installations as well as naval and coastal patrol ships in the bay through smuggled missiles. And lastly, the player is sent to Poland to stop yet another terrorist organization known as the NSO (New Slavic Order) who illegally possess chemical WMDs.
